After you installed it. If your on XP you
can just open up the shortcut that's in there when you open up the folder. If
your on anything else you need to goto the bin folder, and open up Tapestry.exe.
(If you open up the shortcut you'll get an error. It doesn't really matter, but
you will)
When you start up Tapestry you'll first goto a splash
screen which will goto the main screen automatically. On the main screen you
should see a Infantry on the left of the battle screen, and a Infantry, a Tree,
and another Infantry on the right side. If a picture has GREEN box around it.
That means it computer control, or a piece of terrian, that's just there to
block things.
Every turn you can do 2 things. Place 2 units, or
Place a unit and give an action, or give 2 Actions.
To place a
unit. First you must click on the "Troop Deployment" radio button in the
bottom right hand corner. Then click on a blank square on your side of the level
(the left.) Then at the bottom of the screen choose a unit (Where the scroll bar
is.) We'll choose an Infantry. Click on the button that says Infantry. Now we
have a unit placed on the board.
To give an action. First you need
to click on the "Give actions to Units" radio button right under "Troop
Deployment". Then click on the unit you want to give the action to (Must be your
unit.) Now choose an action from the combo box. Advance - Will move
the unit forward 1 space (2 spaces for some units) Retreat - Will move
the unit back 1 space (2 spaces for some units) Right - Will move the
unit UP 1 space Left - Will move the unit DOWN 1
space Charge - Will move a unit forward 1 (or 2) space(s) then attack
with melee Attack (Melee) - The unit will attack a unit that's in
front of it (Works for only some units) Attack (Ranged) - The unit
will attack from a range (Works for only some units) Hold this postion
- Will hold the postion of selected unit (Mostly for just a turn where you don't
want to do anything.)
